Happy Friday!

We have gotten a chance to spend some time outside this week!  We will go outside whenever we can as we need to run and play:-)  Some of us even picked some veggies from the garden.

Homework will begin around 4:30 each day so that everyone can participate in the daily activity.  

Our Art project this week was painting with shaving cream and food coloring!

• The Plus program has two pick up schedules: a 4:30 pm and a 6:00 pm.  If you are late to your scheduled pick up time you will be charged a late fee.
• Per the HCA handbook:  late fees are charged at a $1 a minute after the scheduled pick up time.  
• There will be no HCA Plus+ on the following days:
• Monday, October 8th (school holiday)
• Wednesday, October 31st (Mission Party, Noon dismissal)

The children have had two STEAM activities so far.  The first activity was to build a beanstalk.  We began by viewing the Jack and the beanstalk story.  The students were then given shaving cream and pool noodles to build their own.  I apologize for the mess but they had a blast!

We also had some STEAM exploration time where we were able to use legos, blocks, and kinex to make our own building creation.

Important Reminders:

1. HCA Plus+ hours are from 3:30-6:00.  Families will be charged $1 a minute late fee if they pick up after the scheduled pick-up time.
2. Students will have the option of completing homework in a supervised setting, beginning at 4:30 p.m.  If this is something you wish to have done everyday, please notify Mrs. Devenney via email stating so.
3. Occasional attendance at HCA Plus is available if staffing permits. Please let Mrs. Devenney know about any schedule changes.
4. Please be sure to check the blog weekly for themes, schedules and pictures of the activities the children are participating in.
5. PICK UP:  If picking up your child at 4:30 or before, please enter through the main doors.  If picking up your child after 4:30, please enter through the cafeteria door located on the Shadeland Ave. side of the building.  
6. Snack is provided.
