Even though the weather is turning cooler, we are still going outside as much as possible at Plus. Please make sure your child(ren) come to school with appropriate outdoor clothing. 

Halloween Directed Drawing

Directed drawings provide children with a ton of practice in following directions and paying attention to detail. Children need to listen and follow instructions closely while paying close attention to details or they might miss a step. Directions are given step by step.

Bryanna led the drawing and the creations were authentic and spook-tacular!

Halloween Collages

The students were given Halloween shapes to create a Halloween collage.  As you can see by their expressions, they were quite excited to do so!

THERE IS NO HCA PLUS+ ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31st.  

Our friend Mr. Nick, some of you may know him from soccer, will be joining the Plus program in November.  He will take small groups of children a few times a month to play different sports.  All children will participate.

Nursery Assistant

HCA Plus+ Staff

Mrs. Festa is the Nursery assistant as well as a staff member at HCA +.  During the summer months you can find her at Cornelia's Camp.  This is her 6th year at HCA.  Mrs. Festa is at Plus Monday through Thursday from 3-6.

Bryanna Luistro

Bryanna has over seven years experience in school/camp settings.  She began a camp counselor for the Upper Darby Tot lot, she then moved on to be a program instructor for the YMCA in Lansdowne.  Bryanna joined HCA in 2015, she started out as a camp counselor and Kids Club staff.  Her role here at HCA has now evolved to Summer Camp Coordinator.  Bryanna is currently a senior at Penn State Brandywine and will be graduating with a BS in Psychology. She is the President of the International Psychology Honor Society. Bryanna is a HCA Plus Monday through Friday from 3-6.

• The Plus program has two pick up schedules: a 4:30 pm and a 6:00 pm.  If you are late to your scheduled pick up time you will be charged a late fee.
• Per the HCA handbook:  late fees are charged at a $1 a minute after the scheduled pick up time.  
• There will be no HCA Plus+ on the following days:
• Wednesday, October 31st (Mission Party, Noon dismissal)

Meet Mrs. Devenney & Julianne Sexton

Mrs. Devenney
Nursery Teacher & HCA Plus+ Director

Mrs. Devenney is the Nursery teacher here at HCA.  She graduated from Cabrini University with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary education.  She then continued her education at Grand Canyon University earning a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  Her hours at Plus are Monday through Friday until 4:30 however, if you need to speak with her after that time she can be reached at adevenney@holychildacademy.com.

Julianne Sexton

HCA Plus+ Teacher & HCA Camp Co-Director

Julianne has been involved in the HCA summer camp for the last five years; most recently as camp c0-director.  She joined the Plus staff as a teacher during the 2017-2018 school year.  Julianne received her Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from West Chester University.  Julianne is also employed as a Social Worker at Germantown Nursing Home.  You will see her at Plus Monday through Friday from 3-6 pm.
